Story Behind The Art
The Event resembles an earlier commissioned painting by Ostrovsky entitled The Star which was extremely popular with collectors. The Event takes place in a luxurious, outdoor setting and is marked by great complexity. Many people are involved in multiple individual interactions—people are talking, dancing, drinking and playing cards in a variety of poses. As always, the music plays on.
